About

Kiattisak W. has passion in writing and reading. Therefore, it is not surprising that he decides to pursue his love in Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. After the four-year of bittersweet learning process, He graduates with BA in English and Information Science with First Class Honour.

Generally, his interest in literature is various - from the relationship between the history and the trend in literature echoed in later generation to the combination of various art forms derived inspiration by literature such as The Screwball Comedy and its prototype from Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing".

To be more precise, "Hybrid interest" is the word he defines his literary crave. However, he also focuses on Feminism and Queer Theory ,especially in the context of the media and popular culture since he believes the idea of gender equality between male and female.

Apart from academic pieces of paper, he also writes short stories, novels and compose many pieces of poetry, ranging from the traditional sonnet to the strange confessional poem. His first novel, in Thai, called "Spring Harmony" is published in 2008 as the beginning of his life as a part-time writer.

Kiattisak is following his own profound quest in literature in The University of York in English Literary Studies, a fantastic opportunity to study to satisfy his extensive passion for literature.

Now, Kiattisak is writing a paper about Edna St. Vincent Millay and how she establishes herself as a modern elegist in the wave of high modernism by using the sonnet as the form to record the mourning performance of the twentieth century. By using Ramazani's paradigm of modern elegy and Freud's Mourning and Melancholia as well as close reading and interpretation, Kiattisak is presenting Millay's versatility in her poetic vision of her time.
